Successful Site Visit By Kenyan Delegation

The joint venture of Openview Business Systems (Kenya) and Synergy International Systems (USA) was recently awarded the tender for developing and implementing a whole-of-government Projects Monitoring Information System (e-ProMIS) for the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of the Republic of Kenya. The e-ProMIS will be used by all government ministries and agencies implementing projects funded by both government and development partners for effective monitoring and evaluation of project performance at every stage.

In support of the e-ProMIS project, Synergy hosted a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of the Republic of Kenya, led by the Financial Secretary, Mr. Mutua Kilaka. This important visit, which took place from November 2-6, 2009, was to review the pilot version of the e-ProMIS prior to its deployment in Nairobi.

Synergy has partnered with Openview Business Systems, an IT company based in Nairobi, Kenya, for the implementation of this critical project. This partnership leverages the strengths of both companies, and is a model for successful collaboration in the East Africa region. Over the course of the week, Synergy and Openview staff worked closely en tandem with members of the Technical Working Group (TWG), in reviewing and evaluating the pilot version of the e-ProMIS. The final system is scheduled to be deployed in early December.

The TWG also received preliminary training on Synergy’s Intelligent Data Manager (IDM) technology, including its powerful report builder, administration center, on-line data entry, Executive Dashboard, and e-ProMIS Portal design.

The e-ProMIS is based on Synegy’s IDM and proven Development Assistance Database (DAD) technology and has been tailored to meet the specific requirements of the Government of Kenya.
