Synergy International Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has officially joined the United Nation’s Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), thus advancing the company’s conduct and initiatives in promoting gender equality.
By endorsing the WEPs, Synergy joins over 2000 businesses from around the globe in taking decisive action for further advancing women’s empowerment. As a tech company where 49% of tech roles and 39% of leadership roles are occupied by women, Synergy recognizes the value of women professionals in ensuring the growth and sustainability of the business.
Women Empowerment Principles are a joint initiative of UN Women (United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women) and United Nations Global Compact. They are a set of principles to offer guidance to the private sector on how to promote gender equality and advance women’s empowerment in the workplace, the marketplace, and the community.
“The role of women tech specialists and corporate leaders has always been a driving force in achieving Synergy’s company goals and success, as well as an integral in our growth as a software development company,” says Dr. Ashot Hovanesian, Synergy’s Founder and CEO. “Through endorsing Women’s Empowerment Principles, we envision to cement our values on equally empowering men and women into our corporate code of conduct, as well as advocate for the impact empowered women can have in building strong companies,” he adds.
By endorsing WEPs, Synergy pledges to put into practice a WEPs action plan, implemented with the support of UN Women and UNDP. Over the next two years, the action plan is to positively influence the ways Synergy will be proactively promoting gender equality and women’s full participation and leadership.
